Jargon Buster..
We realise that sometimes we use words or phrase's that may not make sense to all of our customers.  Below is our 'Jargon Buster' - a dictionary which explains what we mean or what you may need to know.

Word or Phrase Explained
MDF MDF stands for Medium-Density Fibreboard. You will see this abbreviation throughout the website as the majority of our products are made from this material. MDF is strong and durable.
Vinyl Vinyl is the name of the material that our doors are wrapped / covered with, this is also know as veneer or laminate. A single piece of vinyl is pressed onto the face and all four edges of the doors, drawer fronts and panels using large machinery.
MFC MFC stands for Melamine Faced Chipboard.
Made to Measure Made to measure items are available in custom sizes. Within certain constraints we can make these items to any millimetre by any millimetres.
It does not matter whether the items you are replacing are in old imperial sizes, we can make made to measure items to the exact same size.
Handing The term ‘handing’ relates to which side of the door is connected to the cabinet by the hinges.
If you do not require hinge holes in the back of your new doors you do not need to worry about the handings.

Handings
Rubber Sealing Strip Our Open Frame doors (for glass or mirror) are supplied with a Rubber Sealing Strip. This strip is used to securely hold the glass or mirror in place. No extra glue, clips or silicone is required.
T&G T&G stands for tongue and groove. Some of our door designs have a tongue and groove effect centre panel.
Mid-Rail

A mid-rail is only used on certain designs over 1700mm high.
The mid-rail is the horizontal bar that splits up the door design into two.

As standard the split is 40% at the bottom and 60% at the top.
For example: A 2000mm high door would have a mid-rail position of 800mm. The 800mm is the distance from the bottom edge of the door to the centre of the mid-rail.
The mid-rail can be removed or repositioned if requested.
